How God Builds His Work

How God Builds His Work

Regardless of how much praying, fasting, and strategizing we may decide to do, storms are part of the things we will never be able to avoid as long as we are in this earthly dimension. Our Lord made this clear when he said: “In the world, you have tribulation, distress and suffering…” John 16:33 (AMP). We are in a spiritual battle against the power of darkness that rules this world; therefore,  an easy life, one without any challenge or disappointment, isn’t probable.

But as much as we cannot escape tribulations, the Word of the Lord provides a solution. Scripture says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world.” When recession hits the marketplace, when hard times hit society, and when the power of darkness arises against our lives, it’s only the businesses, families, marriages, and dreams born of God that will overcome the world and its corruption.

Anything born from the flesh (human ambition, pride, and human wisdom) will not be able to stand when the storms come; therefore, your only assurance in life is to ensure that everything you do comes from God and not from the wisdom of your mind. In the parable that Jesus shared, only the house (business, ministry, marriage, career, etc.) built upon the rock (the word of God) was able to stand when the storm (economic crisis, marital struggles, pandemics, etc.) came

Upon that same rock, Christ said, “…and upon this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18 (KJV) This rock refers to the divine wisdom of God that can only be acquired through revelation. David was successful on the battlefield because he never confronted his enemies before inquiring from the Lord on what to do. His strategies in life and war never failed because they came from a place of revelation.

It’s easy to distinguish a ministry born from human ambition from that birth from divine revelation. While the coming battles will weaken anything that has human origin, they will strengthen a ministry that has God as it’s author.  The Bible says, “Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker” (2 Samuel 3:1 KJV).

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:27 (KJV)

In anything you want to do in life, never act impulsively. Those who rely on human wisdom end up crushed and disappointed. To have a firm foundation in your industry, marriage, ministry, and life in general, stay in the presence of God until you get a clear revelation on how to build it. Seek the wisdom from above.

God Builds through a System called Generational Structures.

I understood, through Moses’ encounter with the Lord, that whenever God intended to raise deliverers, he would build them through generational structures. While introducing himself to Moses, the Lord mentions their forefathers (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob); he did this to make him realise that God works through generations. Moses’ meeting with the Lord was a build-up and continuation of the work he had begun with Abraham down to Jacob.

Defining and sticking to your spiritual lineage is very vital. No matter how unique your present experience with the Lord is, its roots are linked to your forefathers in the faith. Elisha’s ministry was a build-up of Elijah’s assignment, and the Apostle’s commission emanated from the work that our Lord had begun while on earth. Had Elisha abandoned Elisha’s path, he would have missed the mark.

Even in this generation, God plans to pass us the mantles he has deposited in the lives of our spiritual parents. When you check the scriptures, the Lord took the spirit that was in Moses and divided it among the 70 elders. Again, Elijah gave Elisha his mantle, and throughout the Bible, the same pattern repeats itself over and over. This is why people without fathers never go far in their spiritual journey; compared to receiving a mantle, starting from zero is much harder.

Besides the wealth and houses we inherit from our earthly parents (Proverbs 19:14), we must strive to receive spiritual treasures from our spiritual lineage. The generational anointing is part of this treasure and is very important because you won’t have to go through the same battles and struggles your forefathers faced. Their scars will become your mark of victory. The scripture explains this principle in Isaiah.

But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

(Isaiah 53:5 KJV)
